The Psychedelic Mix From Negative Lovers

In 2007, a group of Psychedelic Rock and Roll music fanatics gathered to become Negative Lovers. Among them is Respati Nugroho, a copywriter at Rise Indonesia. Formed over their same interest on bands like Primal Scream, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Spacemen 3, they represent the saturation of banalities that occurs in big cities.

Being brought up in Jakarta independent music scene, they have been developing their acts through events such as Jakarta 32° - Ruang Rupa annual art festival, Superbad, Studiorama, Blackout Party and one of the biggest music festivals in Indonesia, Java Rockin’ Land. It’s a natural step that in 2008 they were invited to Freak Music Party in Kuala Lumpur and two years later became the opening act for Denmark’s finest indie rock – The Raveonettes. After several correspondences with various parties abroad, they signed an exclusive album contract with Picture In My Ear Records from Minneapolis, USA in 2012.

In April 2013, they have released two singles – .38 Loves Me and Flooded Eye – on vinyl and iTunes. Following the positive response on their singles, they released a six-songs EP on August 2014, which contains remixes by UK-based Producer/DJ Jagz Kooner – whose previous works include names like Oasis, Kasabian, Massive Attack, Primal Scream, The Kills and Andrew Weatherall.

Negative Lovers’ full-length album will be released in early 2015.
