Lifebuoy: Helping Indonesian Children Reach Five

Every day nearly 5,000 mothers lose their children before they reach the age of five to infections like diarrhoea and pneumonia.  A lot of these deaths can be prevented by the simple act of washing hands with soap. In 2012 Lifebuoy adopted a village, Thesgora, in India and helped reduce incidents of diarrhoea from 36% to 5% - simply by teaching healthy handwashing habits. This year we take our lifesaving mission to Bitobe in Indonesia.
